Privacy policy

Version 2026-09-21

This policy explains how Movement Lab handles your health information in this app. Movement Lab is a health service provider, so your information is protected by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Who we are

Movement Lab (your treating practitioner, Keegan Baldwin) is responsible for the information collected through this app.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to provide your care: your assessment status, the exercises prescribed for you, the habits you choose to log, a short summary your practitioner writes for you after each session and which is kept so you can look back over it, where you are up to in your care, and a record of the consents you give. We do not collect nutrition or weight information in this app.

If you use the symptom diary, we hold the symptom entries you make (such as pain scores and short notes) as health information, stored in Australia, as your own private record within the app.

Why we collect it

To provide and manage your rehabilitation care — to show you your prescribed plan, let you track your habits, and follow your progress. We do not use it for advertising.

How we store your information

We use Neon for the app's database, configured in its Sydney, Australia region, and Vercel to host the app. This regional configuration does not guarantee that all processing, backups, logs or provider support access remain in Australia. Provider operations may involve processing or access overseas, including in the United States.

Because health records carry a legal retention period, we keep your information for seven years after your last visit (or, for a patient under 18, until they turn 25), and we deactivate rather than erase records so that obligation is met.

Who we share it with

Your treating practitioner at Movement Lab uses your information to provide your care. Neon and Vercel provide the database and hosting services that operate the app. We do not sell your information or share it with advertisers.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Contact Movement Lab to make a request.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information, you can complain to us first. If it is still not resolved, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that affects what you agreed to, we will ask you to read and agree again the next time you use the app. The version number at the top tells you which text you agreed to.
